The healthiest of health kicks are often ignited by a change of environment, where a sense of perspective can be gained, giving you the optimum state of mind in order to soak up health benefits and help you to become healthier and happier.

Whether you want to travel to somewhere exotic to enjoy the best health benefits nature can offer, or visit a health-conscious country in order to pick up some new habits, there are many destinations that can reverse a multitude of unhealthy habits. Whether it’s an overindulgent Christmas or just the result of an unhealthy lifestyle, here are some of the top destinations for a health kick holiday:

Sharm el Sheikh
Located in Egypt, Sharm el Sheikh is often referred to as one of the most beautiful deep-sea diving resorts in the world. With sparkling water, eye-catching corals, tropical fish and beautiful scenery, this is a haven synonymous with peace and clarity of mind.

The luminous Egyptian Red Sea is an easy place for the senses to escape and is also host to a range of activities, such as swimming and snorkelling. To cater for the mind is an ambience of sun, sea, sand and untouched blue sky – perfect for all of your troubles to float away.

There is an abundance of all inclusive holidays to Sharm El Sheikh available, which will alleviate the stress of booking and arranging by keeping it to a minimum, a great start to a relaxing break.

Greece
A large-scale study conducted in 2007 concluded that Greeks have a lower risk of dying from heart disease. Due to the enviable daily routine of siestas (afternoon naps) those who nap at least three times a week have lower levels of stress, increased alertness and longer lives. So why not incorporate some afternoon naps in-between olive eating and sunbathing, in an attempt to start one of the easiest healthy habits there is?

Israel
Israel is home to the world-renowned Dead Sea, which is the lowest point on earth and packed with a multitude of healing powers. The water of the Dead Sea is estimated to contain up to 10 times more salt than the ocean, as well as a wealth of healing minerals that are beneficial for skin and body.

Probably the most obvious answer to the question of where to go for a health kick, the Dead Sea’s water is believed to treat a range of skin conditions, such as psoriasis, arthritis and bronchial ailments. Some of its minerals are known for their relaxing properties, as well as nourishing to the skin, and an impressive 12 of its 26 essential minerals are unique to the Dead Sea.

Japan
If you’re looking for a healthy getaway, Japan may be the place to go. Its inhabitants boast the highest life expectancy in the world, and one of the lowest obesity rates, too. The Japanese spend roughly half of what Americans do on healthcare, yet still manage to live longer.

Not only is the Japanese diet extremely healthy, but they have a great hygiene standards and health behaviour, with regular health checks being the norm. They also practice something known as ‘hara hachi bu’, a concept whereby calorie intake in controlled by eating until they are only 80% full.
