(CNN) — Dale Earnhardt Jr. is just largely retired, therefore he does not plan to miss driving one of his favorite tracks when NASCAR belongs to Darlington Raceway in South Carolina next weekend.
Earnhardt, who had been a week together with his spouse , daughter and two pilots, said hes still hurting from the wreck but intends to take the wheel of an auto in the Xfinity Series.
My lower back is bruised up bad. Tons of swelling and I only need this to return along with the pain to chill outside, he also tweeted. I have been treating the region every day only to get nicely to race.
Earnhardt retired from full-time racing in 2017 due to the effects of concussions, but hes raced after since then — last year at an Xfinity race at Richmond. Earnhardt is now also a television analyst for NBC and a team owner.
On Monday, near where his plane crashed after a difficult landing after bypassing the races at Bristol, Tennessee, Earnhardt thanked emergency responders his pilots and hospital employees.
We are truly blessed that all on board escaped without any serious injuries, including our daughter, our two pilots and our furry friend Gus, Earnhardt added.
Racing fans are looking forward to Earnhardts one on-track appearance this past year. He holds the record for winning the most popular driver award of the circuit 15 years in a row.
